Working Principle of a Cartridge Dust Collector
A cartridge dust collector uses filter cartridges (made of fiber materials such as polyester and polytetrafluoroethylene) as a filter medium to purify dust-laden exhaust gas. Its core process is as follows:
1. Dust-laden Gas Intake: Exhaust gas enters the dust collector at the inlet and is evenly distributed around the filter cartridges through a flow guide.
2. Filtration and Separation: Dust particles are trapped on the filter cartridge surface (primarily through inertial collision, diffusion, and screening), and clean gas passes through the filter cartridges into the clean air chamber.
3. Dust Regeneration: When the dust layer on the filter cartridge surface thickens and the resistance reaches a set value, pulse jets (most commonly used) or mechanical vibration are used to remove dust from the filter cartridge and drop it into the hopper, restoring the filter's filtration capacity.
4. Dust Discharge: Dust in the hopper is regularly discharged through a dust discharge device (such as a screw conveyor or star discharger).

1. Filtration Velocity (v)
Filtration velocity is the volume of gas passing through the effective filtration area of a filter cartridge per unit time and is a core design parameter:

- v: Filtration velocity (m/min), typically selected based on the dust properties (e.g., 1.0-2.0 m/min for dry, non-sticky dust, 0.5-1.0 m/min for sticky dust);

2. Total Effective Filtration Area (A)

- n: Number of filter cartridges;

4. Equipment Resistance (ΔP)
The total resistance of a cartridge dust collector is composed of the resistance of the filter media itself and the resistance of the dust layer. The empirical formula (estimated) is:

- \Delta P_0: Clean filter cartridge resistance (Pa), typically 100-200 Pa;

5. Pulse Injection Parameters (for pulse cleaning models)
- Injection Pressure: Typically 0.4-0.6 MPa (compressed air);
- Injection Time: 0.1-0.2 seconds per filter cartridge;
- Injection Cycle: Depending on the resistance setting, typically 30-120 seconds (automatically adjustable via a differential pressure controller).
