Working principle of the fiberglass horizontal scrubber tower
The horizontal scrubber of fiberglass is a horizontally arranged waste gas purification equipment, made of fiberglass (acid-alkali, corrosion-resistant). The core is to achieve waste gas purification through gas-liquid contact mass transfer.
The specific process is as follows:
1. Inlet of waste gas: The waste gas to be treated enters horizontally from one end of the tower body and flows stably along the channel in the tower to avoid the resistance problems caused by the rising air flow of the vertical tower.
2. Washing liquid spray: Multiple groups of spray devices (including pumps, pipes, and nozzles) are set up in the tower. The washing liquid (clean water or chemical solution) is pressurized and atomized into fine droplets, and sprayed evenly on the airflow path to form a liquid mist area covering the cross-section.
3. Fully reacted by gas and liquid: The horizontally flowing waste gas is in full contact with the atomized droplets, and pollutants (such as dust, acid gas, soluble organic matter, etc.) in the waste gas are captured by the droplets:
- The dust settles after being adhered to by liquid droplets;
- Neutralization reaction between acid gases (such as SO₂, HCl) and alkaline washing liquid;
- Water-soluble organic matter is absorbed by the washing liquid.
4. Purification gas discharge: The processed gas is discharged from the air outlet through the defogging device (such as baffle plates, wire mesh) at the other end of the tower body.
5. Waste liquid treatment: The washing liquid containing pollutants is collected at the bottom of the tower, discharged through the drain port, and enters the subsequent wastewater treatment system.
Introduction to the purification efficiency of the fiberglass horizontal washing tower
Its purification efficiency is affected by waste gas composition, equipment parameters, etc., and is generally suitable for medium and low-concentration waste gas treatment. The specific performance is as follows:
1. Purification efficiency of different pollutants
- Dust: For dust with a particle size of more than 10μm, the purification efficiency can reach 85%-95%; the fine dust efficiency of 5-10μm is about 70%-85% (the nozzle atomization effect needs to be optimized).
- Acid/alkaline gas: When acidic gas (such as SO₂, HCl) is treated with alkaline washing liquid, its efficiency is usually above 90%; alkaline gas (such as NH₃) is treated with acidic washing liquid, and its efficiency is similar.
- Water-soluble organic waste gas, such as methanol, acetone, etc., has an efficiency is about 75%-90%; water-soluble organic matter has low efficiency (usually less than 60%) and needs to be equipped with special solvents.
2. Key factors affecting efficiency
- Gas-liquid contact area: The better the nozzle atomization effect (the thinner the droplet), the greater the spray density, the more sufficient the contact, and the higher the efficiency.
- Dwell time: The horizontal structure extends the flow path of exhaust gas in the tower, and the residence time is usually longer than that of the vertical tower (1.5-3 seconds), with more sufficient reaction and more stable efficiency.
- Washing liquid parameters: such as pH value (acid and alkali neutralization need to be maintained at an appropriate range), circulation volume (insufficient will lead to a decrease in efficiency).
- Air flow velocity: Too high a flow velocity will shorten the gas-liquid contact time and reduce efficiency; too low a flow velocity may increase the equipment volume, and a reasonable flow velocity (usually 1-3m/s) needs to be designed.
3. Applicable scenarios
The overall purification efficiency can meet the emission requirements of most industrial waste gases (such as chemical, electroplating, and pickling waste gases), and is especially suitable for treating waste gases containing corrosive, medium, and low concentration pollutants. If you treat high-concentration or complex component waste gas, it is recommended to use it in combination with other processes (such as activated carbon adsorption) to improve the purification effect.
